IMPRTANCE OF FORGIVENESS AND KINDNESS IN ISLAM

Before Islam people of Saudi Arabia were living in extreme fear. They feared because of the different tribes and neighbours. The people of Arabs worshipped their idols and because of extreme illiteracy they would bury alive their newly born daughters. As time passes and Islam began to spread among them such harsh and cruel practices stopped. Islam taught them lesson of love, peace, respect and kindness.

Messenger of ALLAH and our beloved Prophet (PBUH) was very kind and loving person. He treated every person either old or young, with great respect and love.

Prophet (PBUH) spread the message of ALLAH. Some of Arabs felt that because of the teachings of Prophet (PBUH) their idols were losing their importance, power and respect. Arabs disliked Prophet (PBUH) and they wanted to kill Him so they start making plans against Prophet (PBUH). Every time when they tried to kill Prophet (PBUH), they failed. So that they began to harass Prophet (PBUH ) with every possible way they knew.

One old woman made a habit of throwing garbage on Prophet (PBUH) on daily basis, whenever He passed from her house. Prophet (PBUH) had to pass through that house every day because that was the way toward mosque. Whenever that old lady threw garbage on Prophet (PBUH), he passed without showing any anger and annoyance.

One day Prophet (PBUH) was passing through her house the old lady didn’t threw garbage on Him, Prophet (PBUH) felt strange and He stopped there and asked someone about that old lady. Neighbour informed the Prophet (PBUH) that old lady is sick and she is not well. Then Prophet (PBUH) politely and humbly asked the permission to visit the old woman.

After getting permission Prophet (PBUH) entered into the house of old lady. Old lady thought that He is here to take the revenge of throwing garbage on Him.           Prophet (PBUH) humbly said to that old lady that I am not here to take any kind of revenge from you but I am here to look after and taking care of you because ALLAH has ordered me to look after the sick and needy. HE ordered me that Muslim should visit help those people who need help.

The old lady was impressed by this kindness, humbleness and love of the

Prophet (PBUH), she understood that He is truly the Prophet of ALLAH and Islam is the real religion and there she accepted Islam.

Another occasion regarding to the kindness is that once Prophet (PBUH) travelled somewhere, in noon Prophet (PBUH) rested under the shadow of a small tree.

One of the Prophet (PBUH) enemies was noticing this; he thought that Prophet (PBUH) is alone, so it’s the best time to kill Him quietly. He hurried towards him with having sword in his hand and asked to Prophet (PBUH):

“Tell me who is going to help you now?”

Prophet (PBUH) replied with great confidence and in calm manner “ALLAH”

After seeing His confidence, enemy got frightened, and sword fell down from his hand. Prophet (PBUH) forgives him and allows him to go free. With this kind and noble behaviour of Prophet (PBUH) he accepted Islam.
